Achieving Writing Goals Together

November.

It’s the month of mustaches, the month of Thanksgiving, and also the month of writing.

One major national event this month is #Nanowrimo.
National Novel Writing Month.

National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month

If you are up for the challenge, many people across the world participate for 30 days in a writing challenge in which they try to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Last year, I participated and wrote 13,000+ words, until about day 10 and quit. Life got in the way, work became busier, inspiration dried up. In December I added to my book a bit. And now, this year my idea was to finish what I started last year.

It is quite a challenge. 50,000 words in a month, is 1,667 words a day. That on top of a few businesses and three kids I am trying to manage, it’s not that easy.

But I must say, what I wrote last year helped me a lot! I have used my writings as the basis for my consults with clients, I made questionnaires and it basically organized my thoughts. I will tell you I wasn’t actually writing a novel, I was tweaking the challenge to fit my needs, and worked on my business book. So here I am at it again.

And then on top of it all, Oscar Gonzalez dared a few Orange County social media peeps to write 30 blog posts in November. And not much later, a Facebook group was started and I joined in the fun. Its a great way to vitalize my personal blog again, as frankly this outfit is pretty embarrassing. I will be shopping around in the next few days/weeks to spice up my blog.

If you want to join in the fun, please do! I love to connect with you on Facebook and on Nanowrimo!

That is awesome! Thanks for the mention too, I can’t take credit for it but I’m helping it work out by promoting all posts.

As for your post, You’ve got my support and I know you can do it. When life gets in the way, kick it back to its corner for another few paragraphs!

I look forward to reading more about your project and Best of luck!

I completely hear you. Especially the part about life and three kids. On a good day, I can knock out 1,000 in an hour. But that one hour is usually all I can muster. Perhaps when they’re teenagers — and can’t stand me — I’ll have time.
